If you’ve ever dreamed about a Casa De Campo wedding, Christine and Tony’s celebration is exactly the kind of destination wedding that makes people want to pack their bags immediately! Set in beautiful La Romana, Dominican Republic, this intimate wedding weekend was centered around spending quality time with the people who matter most while soaking in everything this incredible tropical destination has to offer.

Instead of planning just one day together, Christine and Tony created an entire experience for their closest family and friends. Everyone flew into paradise, settled into the gorgeous private villas, and spent the weekend enjoying beach days, private pools, golf cart rides around the resort, and unforgettable moments together. That’s one of my favorite things about destination weddings! They naturally slow everything down and give everyone more time to truly connect.

Why a Casa De Campo Wedding Is So Special

There is a reason Casa de Campo continues to be one of the most sought after destination wedding locations in the Caribbean! From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Between the tropical landscapes, luxury accommodations, and endless ocean views, every corner feels like the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

What I loved most about Christine and Tony’s wedding weekend was how relaxed everyone felt. Rather than rushing from one event to another, guests spent their mornings by the beach, afternoons lounging by the pool, and evenings celebrating together. Because everyone stayed on the property, the entire weekend felt incredibly personal and more intentional.

As their photographer, this also meant I had the opportunity to capture so many candid memories beyond just the wedding day itself. Those in between moments often become some of my favorite photographs!

Altos de Chavón | The Perfect Ceremony Location

One of the most iconic locations on the property is Altos de Chavón. Built in 1976, this stunning Mediterranean style village overlooks the Chavón River and creates one of the most unique wedding venues in the Dominican Republic.

As we wandered through the cobblestone streets, it honestly felt like we had stepped into a small European village. Then you’d catch a glimpse of a palm tree or feel the warm Caribbean breeze, and it brought you right back to the Dominican Republic! That contrast is what makes this location so unforgettable.

I loved photographing Christine and Tony here because every turn offered a new backdrop. We stopped whenever beautiful light spilled into an alleyway or wrapped around the stone buildings. It never felt like we had to search for a photo location because they were everywhere. The old stone walls gave every image so much texture, and the tropical surroundings kept everything feeling fresh and relaxed. It’s one of those places that looks incredible no matter where you point the camera!

An Intimate Casa De Campo Wedding Weekend

Although this was a micro wedding, it never felt small. In fact, it felt even more meaningful because every guest played such an important role throughout the weekend.

There was so much laughter during family dinners, heartfelt conversations by the pool, and excitement leading up to the ceremony. You could tell everyone genuinely wanted to be there. That energy carried into the wedding day and created such a warm atmosphere from beginning to end.

Destination weddings often become mini vacations for everyone involved, and this weekend captured exactly why so many couples choose them. Rather than celebrating for only a few hours, Christine and Tony were able to create memories that lasted several days. Those extra moments together are something guests will remember long after the wedding is over!
