Lake Oconee Wedding Day Filled With Color & Vibrancy
July 29, 2026
Some weddings feel like they were created for the exact people getting married. This Lake Oconee wedding was one of them! From the moment I arrived at Jessica and Jacob’s lake house, it was obvious that every detail reflected who they are. Instead of choosing a traditional venue, they invited their closest family and friends to celebrate at a beautiful home on Lake Oconee. As a result, the entire day felt relaxed, welcoming, and incredibly personal!
The atmosphere was full of excitement from the very beginning. Everyone spent the day together at the house before gathering outside for a ceremony overlooking the water. It felt less like attending a formal event and more like celebrating with people who had known each other forever. Which made every moment even more meaningful!

A Lake Oconee Wedding at a Private Lake House
One of my favorite things about this Lake Oconee wedding was the location itself! Renting a private lake house gave Jessica and Jacob complete freedom to design the day exactly how they imagined it. Their ceremony took place near the shoreline with the lake creating the perfect backdrop. Afterwards, guests made their way to a beautifully decorated tent where a classic black and white dance floor became the center of the celebration.
Even the house added to the experience! The exterior was painted a cheerful salmon pink, while the master bedroom featured a hand-painted tree mural that instantly caught my attention. Everywhere I looked there was another fun detail that fit the colorful personality of the day. It never felt overly styled. Instead, it simply felt like Jessica and Jacob!

Personal Details That Told Their Story
Jessica is a graphic designer, so it was no surprise that she designed nearly every paper good and custom graphic herself! From the invitation suite to the matchboxes, every piece tied together beautifully. She even created custom illustrations featuring their dogs, which appeared throughout the wedding decor.
Everything centered around their wedding hashtag, #ALoveStory, which was such a fun play on Jacob’s last name, Story. I love when couples find creative ways to tell their story because those are often the details guests remember long after the wedding is over! As a photographer, these thoughtful touches are always some of my favorite things to capture. They give every gallery so much personality and make the photos feel uniquely connected to the couple.

A Lake Oconee Wedding Celebration That Felt Joyful From Beginning to End
More than anything, this wedding felt carefree. There wasn’t any pressure to create a perfectly polished event. Instead, Jessica and Jacob focused on creating a day that felt genuine, welcoming, and full of joy. That energy carried through every part of the celebration!
Looking back through their gallery, I still smile because every image reflects exactly who they are. The colorful florals, the playful graphics, the beautiful lakefront setting, and the relaxed atmosphere all worked together so naturally. It truly complemented their personalities perfectly!
